Garak, Bashir and Parmak as a happy triad, being dads! This was magistrate-of-mediocrity‘s idea, who came up with the idea that the three of ‘em live happily ever after and adopt a bunch of chubby babehs. Well, I got one chubby baby in there. Happy (early) Father’s Day, everybody!

I get the rampant popularity of that is the ‘post-canon Cardassia’ sub-genre of Garak/Bashir fic, but I was thinking about it and was wondering - are there any post-canon fics where they meet up on Earth?

Less likely, per show canon, given Garak’s personality and loyalty to Cardassia, but possible, given that he’s supposedly becomes the Cardassian Ambassador to the Federation and lives in Paris in the novels for a bit. Could be really interesting.

Yeah, the book canon stuff where he ends up in Paris later was what made me wonder - it wouldn’t necessarily mean the two of them weren’t in contact when he was on Cardassia post-canon, either… just that Bashir couldn’t make it there…

So I’m guessing the answer to my original question is ‘no’, though. Ah well.

I’ve read a couple where they meet back up on DS9, but I haven’t read any where they meet up on Earth. I really like the idea though. I wish I didn’t have so many other things going on or I’d try my hand at it. (The biggest problem I see is actually coming up with a reason for BASHIR to be on Earth, because, honestly, I see it more likely that Garak would go before Julian would.)

Julian: You’re hair is so long. It’s nice. Garak, why don’t you grow your hair out like this?
Garak: You are a human, and therefore wouldn’t understand the intricacies of Cardassian fashion and social standing. None the less, I forgive you.
Kelas: He...

Kelas: He means he thinks he’ll look foolish. Usually only women grow their hair this long.

Julian: Really? I didn’t think you were one for sticking with the gender norms, Garak.

Garak: My dear doctors, I do believe you are putting words in my mouth.

Okay, seriously, 99% the reason I drew this was so I could draw long pretty Kelas hair. Drawing hair is so therapeutic to me, and I needed something to calm me. And you all get a pretty Parmak/Garak/Bashir pic out of it.
